SBEM Calculations & BRUKL Reports for New Build Developments

SBEM calculations are required for all newly built non-domestic units with a heated or cooled environment and an internal floor area greater than 50m2 to ensure they will meet the requirements of Part L2A of the Building Regulations

SBEM calculations assess the overall thermal efficiency of the building, and also the amount of energy that will be required for internal services (e.g. heating, cooling, ventilation, lighting and hot water). The SBEM ratings also calculates the level of carbon emissions that the building will generate once it is in operation too.

The results of the SBEM calculation are compared against the corresponding requirements of Part L2A and summarised in a BRUKL report for submission to Building Control.

From the Design Stage of a project through to completion, our expert SBEM Assessors will work in partnership with you, providing a thoroughly professional and fully supportive service. We will provide technical compliance support to ensure that your scheme meets the requirements of Part L2A.

Upon completion of a build, we issue an ‘As Built’ BRUKL report to confirm overall compliance as well as a Non Domestic Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) which is also required as part of the sign off procedure and for the marketed rental or sale of a unit.
