Part F Ventilation Testing (Intermittent Extract Fan Testing)
Whilst sporadically enforced, Approved Document Part F of the Building Regulations requires all residential new builds to have their installed ventilation systems tested upon completion. This is to ensure that satisfactory extract rates / air flow rates are achieved in accordance with the minimum ventilation design standards.
The requirement to undertake flow rate testing extends to all ventilation system types and strategies including simple intermittent extract fans and whole house mechanical extract systems with heat recovery (MVHR).
Part F Ventilation Testing (Flow Rate Testing) should be undertaken by a BPEC qualified technician using UKAS calibrated equipment.
