The Code for Sustainable Homes (CSH) is a national environmental assessment standard for new build residential developments.

The Code for Sustainable Homes Assessment scheme measures the overall sustainability of developments in the following key areas of design, to give an overall Code Assessment rating:

  • Energy
  • Water
  • Materials
  • Surface water run off
  • Waste
  • Pollution
  • Health & Wellbeing
  • Management
  • Ecology

CSH Assessments must be completed by a licensed Code Assessor, and usually consist of an initial assessment and interim certification carried out at the design stage, and a final assessment and certification stage carried out after construction is completed.

The scheme can appear complicated; individual developments often require specific solutions to be identified and overcome by closely working with the design team, and failing to consult a Code Assessor in the early planning stages can mean that simple credits are lost as a result of basic oversights.

EPS Group employs our own experienced Code for Sustainable Homes Assessors, who can draw upon the wide range of additional services that we provide in order to offer an all-inclusive comprehensive compliance package through one convenient point of contact.

Rather than simply acting as a central auditor and producer of Code for Sustainable Homes Assessments, we pride ourselves on working closely with our clients from the initial design stage to the point of completion. Together, we collectively devise and implement the most practical and cost effective solutions possible, and ensure you achieve the required Code rating.
