SBEM calculations (Simplified Building Energy Model calculations) are required for all newly built, converted or extended commercial properties as a means of demonstrating compliance with Part L of the Building Regulations.
In this context, SBEM is used to calculate the energy efficiency and associated carbon emission rate of a proposed building based upon the supplied plans and specifications, which are then summarised for submission to building control in the form of a BRUKL report .
The calculation process is required both at the 'Design Stage' before the commencement of any work and also at the 'As Built Stage' prior to obtaining a completion certificate. At this point the SBEM calculation is also used as the basis to produce a Non-Domestic Energy Performance Certificate.
At EPS Group, our experienced and fully accredited in-house assessors undertake SBEM calculations nationwide in a prompt and efficient manner.
